Pakistan Flood News: Heavy rains are once again causing havoc in Pakistan. Flood-like situations are arising. In such a situation, the neighboring country is suffering loss of life and property on a large scale. According to a report by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), since June 25, 86 people have died due to monsoon rains. Along with this, 151 other people have been injured.

According to Pakistan-based ARY News, NDMA said in its report that in the last 24 hours, six people have died due to heavy rains across Pakistan, while nine people have been injured. Along with this, 97 houses have also been damaged due to heavy rains. According to the report, the maximum number of dead people are from Punjab, where 52 people have died due to heavy rains.

NDMA had already predicted

Citing the report of NDMA, ARY News has said that 20 people have died in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and six in Balochistan due to heavy rains. Significantly, in April itself, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had predicted that there is a 72 percent chance of devastating floods in Pakistan this year. In a briefing to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), NDMA chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider said that the temperature is increasing rapidly. In such a situation, floods can occur due to melting of glaciers and early monsoon.

Economy may collapse once again

Issuing a warning, Inam Haider said that if a devastating flood hits Pakistan like last year, then the country will be trapped in a big economic crisis. Significantly, Pakistan is already going through a period of poverty. The people of the country are already yearning to fulfill their basic needs. In such a situation, one more flood is enough to completely destroy the economy of Pakistan.
