Pakistan Gilgit-Baltistan Twitter: In Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan (Gilgit-Baltistan), yesterday i.e. (July 9), a claim was made by Twitter to block the Pakistani account. The people there had complained that the location of their account was showing the area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir which is part of India. Now a statement has come out from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) regarding the disturbance in the Twitter account.

The PTA said that social media and news showed that Twitter has blocked the official account of the Government of Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan. Whereas some locations were shown in India. We clarify that the matter has been thoroughly investigated and no such impropriety has come to light as is being circulated in the media.

Few users affected
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) further said that after ground testing, it has come to know that the problem related to Twitter account has been seen in sporadic places only. It is limited to very few iOS devices, affecting a very small number of users. These incidents are not significant and do not reflect a wider problem.

Access to account linked to Pakistani government closed

On the other hand, yesterday when some users in Gilgit-Baltistan were not able to access the account related to the Pakistani government. Twitter users in Gilgit-Baltistan were trying to access an account belonging to the Pakistani government, when a message popped up, saying that the account is blocked in India due to legal reasons.

Let us tell you that earlier in June 2022, Twitter had banned many Pakistani Twitter accounts including the United Nation (UN), Turkey, Iran and Pakistan Mission in Egypt and Radio Pakistan.
