India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the G7 Summit in Italy on June 15, 2024. They talked about important projects between India and Japan.
One big project they discussed is the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail. This is a bullet train that will run between the two cities. It will make travel much faster in India. Japan is helping a lot with this project.
PM Modi thanked PM Kishida for wishing him well as he starts his third term as India’s leader. They both said that the partnership between India and Japan is very important and has grown a lot in the last 10 years.
Japan plans to invest 5 trillion yen in India from 2022 to 2027. The two countries are also working together on defence, technology, clean energy, digital projects, and more.
PM Modi said he was very happy to meet PM Kishida. He believes the India-Japan partnership can help the whole world grow in a good way. The two leaders will keep talking about their countries’ cooperation at their next yearly meeting.
So in summary, the meeting showed that India and Japan are working closely together on major projects to make both countries better and stronger partners.
