Inspired by the hit South Korean zombie film “Train to Busan,” organizers of the event aimed to create a truly immersive and frightening experience for thrill-seekers. On Saturday, a chartered car of the Shinkansen, typically known for its serene and efficient journeys, was filled with around 40 brave passengers ready to face the undead.

As the train departed Tokyo, a chilling atmosphere began to build. Actors dressed as zombies emerged from the shadows, surprising and startling the unsuspecting passengers. Screams and shouts echoed through the car as the passengers attempted to evade the relentless pursuit of the undead.

The event, which took place less than two weeks before Halloween, was hailed as the “world’s first haunted house experience on a running shinkansen.” It offered a thrilling and unforgettable departure from the usual tranquil journey on Japan’s famous bullet train.
