In a heartwarming reunion that has touched the hearts of many, a father from Amritsar, Punjab, has been reunited with his son from Japan after a 19-year separation. Sukhpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, met a Japanese woman in Thailand and later married her in 2002. The couple lived together in Chiba Ken, near Tokyo, and their son, Rin, was born in 2003.
However, the marriage faced difficulties, leading to a separation a few years later. As a result, their two-year-old son, Rin Takahata, grew up in the absence of his father. Sukhpal returned to India in 2007 and has had no contact with his son or wife since then.
Rin, now a student at Osaka University of Arts in Japan, recently embarked on a journey to find his father. Driven by a desire to learn more about his family history, Rin used a family tree project as an opportunity to connect with his father’s side. Through meticulous research and the use of Google Maps, Rin was able to locate his father’s address in Amritsar.
On August 15th, Rin arrived in India, eager to reunite with his father. Despite facing some challenges, he successfully met Sukhpal Singh on August 18th. The emotional reunion was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.
The footage shows Sukhpal Singh and Rin embracing each other, tears of joy streaming down their faces.
