External affairs minister Dr. Jaishankar to unveil the Gandhi Bust and Address Diaspora in Tokyo

The Indian Embassy in Tokyo is inviting the Indian community to a special event on July 28th, 2024, featuring the unveiling of a bust of Mahatma Gandhi by India’s esteemed External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar.

This momentous occasion will take place at the General Recreation Freedom Plaza, Shinden No.6 Park in Edogawa City at 11:00 AM JST (Japan Standard Time). Following the unveiling, Dr. Jaishankar will address the Indian diaspora residing in Japan.

“We are honoured to host Minister Jaishankar on his visit to Japan and believe this event will be a significant one for the Indian community,” said Umesh Nautiyal, First Secretary (Education & Culture) at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo. “The unveiling of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust serves as a powerful symbol of peace and non-violence, values that continue to resonate strongly today.”
