Tokyo witnessed a serene yet powerful gathering on the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025. The event, held with great spirit and enthusiasm, showcased not only the growing global embrace of yoga but also the strength of India-Japan cultural ties.

The celebration was inaugurated by Madam Yoshiko Ishiba, Spouse of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Japan. Her presence and support underscored the deep-rooted respect for Indian traditions and the growing relevance of wellness practices in today’s fast-paced world.

The event was further graced by Madam Satoko Iwaya, Spouse of the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Japan, whose participation added to the dignity of the occasion. Their attendance symbolized the increasing recognition of yoga as a means of fostering both personal health and diplomatic goodwill.

Ambassador Sibi George (@AmbSibiGeorge) addressed the gathering of over two thousand yoga enthusiasts with inspiring words. His remarks reflected on yoga’s universal appeal and its power to unite individuals across cultures and nations.

Reverend Myoken Hayama and Reverend Tomohiro Kimura of Tsukiji Hongwanji, along with Madam Joice Sibi, Spouse of the Ambassador of India, also marked their presence. Senior government officials, resident ambassadors, diplomats, and numerous friends of India in Japan stood together in solidarity, practicing yoga in a collective spirit of peace and mindfulness.
