The products will be introduced at Seven-Eleven stores across Japan in stages beginning September 25, 2026, as the convenience store chain looks to strengthen its appeal among younger consumers.

New Fashion Products to Arrive From September

The first collection will include a range of clothing and accessories connected to popular And ST brands.

Products include:

● Limited-edition T-shirts from “niko and…”

● Socks from “LOWRYS FARM”

● Scarves and mittens

● Other everyday fashion accessories

Seven-Eleven Japan plans to introduce 28 products as part of the broader rollout, according to the latest report.

Hello Kitty Collection Coming in October

The collaboration will expand further in late October, when Seven-Eleven Japan plans to release 10 additional products featuring Sanrio’s Hello Kitty.

The collection combines fashion with one of Japan’s most recognizable character brands, giving Seven-Eleven another way to create products designed to appeal to younger shoppers and social-media audiences.

From Emergency Clothing to Lifestyle Fashion

Seven-Eleven has already sold basic clothing products such as socks, T-shirts and stockings. These items have traditionally been positioned mainly as convenient purchases when customers suddenly need clothing.

The new collaboration represents a different strategy.

Rather than focusing only on emergency necessities, Seven-Eleven is looking to make its apparel selection more fashion-oriented and lifestyle-focused.

The company aims to double its annual clothing sales compared with the previous fiscal year.

Younger Customers Are a Key Target

Attracting younger shoppers is an important part of the strategy.

Reports indicate that around 40% of Seven-Eleven customers are aged 50 or above, making younger generations an important growth opportunity for the chain.

The new fashion range is particularly expected to appeal to consumers interested in everyday fashion and accessories, including women in their 20s to 40s.

Convenience Stores Become Fashion Retailers

Seven-Eleven is not alone in expanding into apparel.

FamilyMart has already established its “Convenience Wear” clothing range, with apparel sales reaching around ¥20 billion in fiscal 2025.

Meanwhile, Lawson has expanded its selection of MUJI clothing products from Ryohin Keikaku.

This competition is pushing Japanese convenience stores to explore categories beyond traditional food, drinks and daily necessities.

Why This Matters

1. Convenience Stores Are Expanding Their Role
Seven-Eleven is increasingly positioning its stores as places where customers can purchase lifestyle products alongside food and everyday necessities.

2. Younger Consumers Are a Major Target
The fashion collaboration is designed to make the brand more attractive to younger shoppers.

3. Character Brands Add Appeal
The upcoming Hello Kitty products combine fashion with popular Japanese pop culture.

4. Competition Is Increasing
FamilyMart and Lawson are also expanding their apparel offerings, creating a growing convenience-store fashion market.

Final Word

Seven-Eleven Japan’s new apparel strategy reflects a broader transformation in Japan’s convenience-store industry.

By partnering with And ST brands and introducing Hello Kitty products, the company is moving from basic emergency clothing toward fashion, lifestyle and character-driven merchandise.

With the first products arriving nationwide from September 25, the initiative will be closely watched as Seven-Eleven attempts to attract a younger generation and significantly increase its clothing sales.
