In celebration of Amritkaal — a defining era of progress and cultural resurgence for India — the Embassy of India in Tokyo will host a one-of-a-kind 750-minute non-stop cultural marathon on Monday, July 21, 2025, coinciding with a public holiday in Japan.
Spanning over 12 hours and 30 minutes, the event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Auditorium of the Embassy of India in Tokyo, offering visitors a rich and immersive experience of India’s artistic and cultural diversity.
A Daylong Showcase of India’s Living Traditions
Titled “India i.e. Bharat 2025: Celebrating Amritkaal,” the marathon will feature an extraordinary lineup of Indian classical and folk dance, music, martial arts demonstrations, and other traditional art forms, performed by renowned artists and cultural groups based in Japan and beyond.
Guests can expect to witness the mesmerizing rhythms of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, the spiritual resonance of Hindustani and Carnatic music, and thrilling martial art forms such as Kalaripayattu. The event also promises fusion acts that blend the old and the new, showcasing the evolution of Indian expression across generations.
Drop In Anytime — All Are Welcome
In a unique format designed for flexibility and accessibility, the event welcomes attendees to drop in at any time during the 750-minute program. Whether for a short visit or to spend the entire day soaking in the sounds, sights, and soul of India, all are welcome.
The Embassy encourages families, students, cultural enthusiasts, and the general public in Japan to take advantage of the public holiday and experience India’s timeless heritage in a single immersive day.
