Sometimes, the smallest incident can plant the biggest seed of change.

When 17-year-old Navya Goenka faced a health scare in Class 7, she began questioning what was really going into her food and the soil beneath it. That simple curiosity soon grew into a mission to protect India’s farmlands.

Together with her classmates Aayush Anand, Gaurvica Gupta, and Simayah Jhingran from Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, she built “Mati Rakshak”  a smart, handheld device paired with an app called Agroww that helps farmers analyse soil nutrients and use fertilisers wisely.

Tested in villages like Manesar, Kadarpur, and Sardhana, this innovation gives real-time soil insights and crop-specific fertiliser plans within minutes  saving money, protecting soil health, and honouring our farmers.

Their effort earned them the CREST Gold Award 2025, proving that innovation doesn’t wait for age  it starts with curiosity and compassion.

Let this be your reminder today: One question, one idea, one spark  that’s all it takes to create lasting change.
