Visitors can expect themed zones dedicated to different characters, behind-the-scenes insights into character creation, and rotating exhibitions highlighting collaborations with artists and brands from around the world.

The museum will also feature exclusive merchandise available only on-site, along with cafes and photo-friendly spaces designed to appeal to both longtime fans and first-time visitors. Special workshops and seasonal events are planned to encourage creativity and interaction, particularly among children and young creators.

Sanrio’s decision to open the museum comes as Japanese pop culture continues to attract strong global interest, with character-driven brands playing a major role in tourism and soft power. With its April opening, the Sanrio Museum is expected to further strengthen the brand’s emotional connection with fans while reaffirming its position as one of Japan’s most influential pop culture icons.
