India and Japan Strengthen Ties in Textile Sector: Key Meeting Held in Japan

A special meeting was recently held in Japan to strengthen business ties between India and Japan in the textile industry. The Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, led this important round-table discussion with top CEOs from major Japanese textile and apparel companies.

During the meeting, Shri Giriraj Singh invited Japanese companies to invest in India. He especially encouraged them to explore opportunities in technical textiles, fibre production, and textile machinery. He explained that these sectors offer great potential not just for the Indian market, but also for global exports.

India’s Ambassador to Japan, Shri Sibi George (@AmbSibiGeorge), gave the opening remarks. He spoke about the bright future of India-Japan trade and how both countries can benefit by working together in the field of textiles and technology.

Mr. Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, gave a presentation during the event. He explained the various helpful policies and schemes offered by the Government of India to attract investors. These policies make India a great destination for textile manufacturing and innovation.

One of the highlights of the event was the meeting between Shri Giriraj Singh and Mr. Seiji Yano, President and CEO of DAISO Industries. They discussed possible future collaborations in the textile sector, which could benefit both countries.

This event showed the strong interest of both India and Japan in working together and taking their textile partnership to the next level.
