Japan Airlines (JAL) announced today a codeshare partnership with IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share and fleet size. The agreement will take effect on October 1, 2024, and will provide customers with more travel options between Japan and India.
Under the codeshare agreement, JAL will place its “JL” code on IndiGo’s domestic flights connecting to JAL’s operated flights from Delhi and Bengaluru. This will give JAL customers access to IndiGo’s extensive domestic network, which includes over 70 destinations across India.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with IndiGo, one of the most respected airlines in India,” said Yuichiro Oshima, Executive Vice President of International Affairs, JAL. “This partnership will allow us to offer our customers more seamless travel options between Japan and India, and we are confident that it will be mutually beneficial.”

The codeshare agreement is part of JAL’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence in India. The airline currently operates daily flights from Tokyo Haneda to Delhi and three times a week services from Tokyo Narita to Bengaluru.
