The spirit of India is set to come alive in Tokyo like never before! The Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India Tokyo, proudly announces “Kala Utsav” — a grand Indian Performing Arts Marathon showcasing the rich diversity of Indian dance, music, and martial arts. Scheduled for July 21, 2025, a public holiday in Japan, this unique event promises 750 uninterrupted minutes of mesmerizing performances by artists residing in Japan.

From the rhythmic beats of Kathak and Bharatnatyam to the soulful melodies of Hindustani and Carnatic music — and the powerful expressions of Indian martial arts like Kalaripayattu — Kala Utsav is a celebration of culture, endurance, and artistic unity. The event invites participation from all Indian performing artists currently residing in Japan, offering a rare opportunity to perform on an international platform while uniting the Indian diaspora through the language of art.

Organized by the Vivekananda Cultural Centre, the initiative aims to promote Indian culture globally, strengthen Indo-Japanese cultural ties, and provide a collaborative space for cultural expression. Interested artists or groups are encouraged to scan the QR code on the official flyer, read the eligibility criteria and terms, and fill out the Google form to confirm their participation.
