
The Opening Ceremony of Japan Month 2025 was celebrated with enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy, marking the beginning of a month dedicated to deepening India–Japan ties.
The ceremony was graced by H.E. Ambassador Sibi George, New Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, who attended as the Chief Guest.
The evening featured a traditional koto performance, a talk by renowned Indian voice actors, and a tea gathering in the Ryurei style of Chado – the Way of Tea, where guests were served ceremonial matcha. These performances highlighted the essence of Japanese culture and its resonance with Indian audiences.
Speaking at the ceremony, dignitaries emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Japan.
The event set the tone for Japan Month 2025, which will showcase a series of programs celebrating art, culture, and friendship between the two nations.
