In a major boost to tourism, the Indian government has announced a visa-on-arrival facility for citizens of Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. This move is expected to significantly increase tourist arrivals from these countries.
Effective immediately, travelers from these three nations can now obtain a visa upon arrival at six designated international airports in India, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The visa will be valid for a period of ## days and will allow for multiple entries into the country.
This decision comes as part of India’s efforts to promote tourism and strengthen ties with key countries in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. The government believes that visa-free travel will make it easier and more convenient for tourists to visit India, thereby boosting the country’s economy.
The tourism industry in India has welcomed the move, stating that it will open up new opportunities for the sector. Several tour operators have already announced special packages targeting tourists from Japan, South Korea, and the UAE.
This decision is also expected to benefit the Indian diaspora in these countries, who will now be able to visit their homeland more frequently and easily.
