A significant step toward strengthening economic cooperation between India and Japan was marked with the successful organization of the India–Japan Business Conference: The Next Growth Story – Kyushu Connect in Kumamoto. The conference was organized by the Consulate General of India in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Kumamoto Industrial Federation.

The event marked an important milestone as it represented the first engagement of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry in the Kyushu region of Japan. More than 30 Indian companies participated in the conference as part of a business delegation organized by FICCI, highlighting the growing interest of Indian businesses in exploring opportunities within regional Japanese markets.

The conference brought together prominent leaders from government and industry to discuss ways to deepen economic partnerships and explore new business opportunities. Among the distinguished speakers were Ramkumar, Consul General of India; Rohit Relan, Co-Chair of the India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee and Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Seats Ltd; Mari Ichinomoto, Bureau Chief at the Kumamoto Prefectural Government; Noriaki Miyamura, Chairman of the Kumamoto Industrial Federation; and Subi Chaturvedi, Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs and Public Policy Officer at InMobi.

During the conference, speakers highlighted the strong growth trajectory of the Indian economy and the vast opportunities available for Japanese companies seeking expansion in India. Discussions also focused on the supportive measures introduced by the Government of India to encourage foreign investment and strengthen industrial partnerships.

Another key topic was the potential for collaboration between Indian companies and businesses based in Kumamoto. Participants explored opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, and digital innovation. The conference also emphasized the growing need for skilled human resources and the potential for talent exchange between India and Japan.

The participation of more than 30 Indian companies underscored the business community’s commitment to expanding economic ties and exploring partnerships in the Kyushu region.
