Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, recently met with Japan’s Minister to boost digital cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, aimed at improving their relationship in the tech sector.
The main topics they discussed were:
1. 5G and 6G Technologies: Sharing knowledge and working together on next-gen wireless technology.
2. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Starting joint projects in AI development and creating ethical rules for AI use.
3. Cybersecurity: Collaborating to fight cyber threats and protect important digital systems.
4. Digital Skill Development: Sharing best practices on training people for the digital workforce.
5. Start-up Ecosystem: Helping Indian and Japanese tech start-ups to collaborate.
Minister Vaishnaw talked about India’s digital growth, pointing out programs like Digital India and UPI’s success. He said India is eager to learn from Japan’s advanced tech and innovation. The Japanese minister praised India’s growing role in global technology and was excited to deepen ties.
Both sides agreed that this collaboration could help with economic growth, job creation, and technology development. They decided to form a joint working group to follow up on the ideas discussed and look for new ways to cooperate.
This meeting is part of a larger effort to strengthen the special relationship between India and Japan, with digital innovation being a key focus. Both nations are committed to working together to shape the future of technology and make a more secure and connected digital world.
