Tokyo, Japan: The Indian Embassy in Tokyo marked India’s 78th Independence Day with a series of patriotic and eco-friendly events. The day began with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony where Sir Sibi George unfurled the Indian tricolour and read out the President of India’s address to the nation.
In line with the government’s initiative, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Plant4Mother’ campaigns, Sir Sibi George and his wife, Madam Joice Sibi, joined hands with school children to plant saplings on the embassy premises. This symbolic gesture underscored India’s commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future.
The celebrations also witnessed enthusiastic participation from Indian school students who showcased their patriotism through spirited performances of patriotic songs. Sir Sibi George interacted with the young students, inspiring them to carry forward the legacy of India’s freedom fighters.
The event was a vibrant display of Indian culture and unity, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among the Indian diaspora in Japan.
