₹3,191 Crore in Japanese-Linked Projects

Two major Japanese-linked business groups are behind the projects highlighted during the investment meet.

Escorts Kubota is proposing an investment of approximately ₹2,025 crore in YEIDA’s Sector 10. The facility is expected to manufacture tractors, construction equipment and related products for both domestic and export markets. The project is projected to create more than 3,800 jobs.

Meanwhile, Minda Corporation is developing two projects in YEIDA’s Sectors 10 and 24, involving a combined proposed investment of approximately ₹1,166 crore.

The Minda projects are expected to generate around 6,440 employment opportunities, taking the combined projected employment impact of the projects to more than 10,000.

Uttar Pradesh Targets Japanese Manufacturing

The projects highlight Uttar Pradesh’s strategy of positioning itself as a manufacturing hub for Japanese companies.

The state is promoting opportunities across sectors including:

  • Automotive components
  • Electronics and semiconductors
  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Clean and green energy
  • Green hydrogen
  • Digital infrastructure
  • Global Capability Centres
  • Skill development

The investment meet is designed to connect Japanese businesses with Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem through government-to-business and business-to-business engagements.

Proposed 500-Acre Japanese City

Another major proposal is the development of a 500-acre Japanese City in the YEIDA region near Greater Noida.

The planned industrial ecosystem is intended to provide Japanese companies, suppliers and ancillary businesses with a dedicated environment for investment and manufacturing.

Such an ecosystem could support stronger supply-chain integration, technology transfer and collaboration between Japanese and Indian companies.

Yogi Adityanath Invites Japan to Make UP a Second Industrial Home

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has encouraged Japanese companies to consider the state their “second industrial home.”

At the U.P.–Japan Investment Meet 2026, he highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s combination of skills, scale, infrastructure and market access, while emphasising the complementary strengths of Japan and the state.

Japan brings expertise in precision manufacturing, technology and quality, while Uttar Pradesh offers a large market, workforce and expanding industrial infrastructure.

More Than Just Investment

The growing partnership is being positioned as a broader economic relationship involving investment, technology transfer, employment, skills development and industrial cooperation.

The proposed projects could also encourage the development of local suppliers and ancillary industries around Japanese manufacturing operations.

For Uttar Pradesh, this supports its ambition to attract global investment and strengthen its position as a major manufacturing destination.

Japanese-linked projects worth ₹3,191 crore are strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.

2. 10,000+ Potential Jobs

Final Word

Japan’s growing investment interest in Uttar Pradesh is creating a new chapter in India-Japan economic cooperation.

With approximately ₹3,191 crore in Japanese-linked manufacturing projects and more than 10,000 potential jobs, the YEIDA region is emerging as an important centre for Japanese industrial activity.

The proposed 500-acre Japanese City, combined with new manufacturing projects and opportunities in green energy, semiconductors, automotive components and digital infrastructure, could further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a preferred destination for Japanese businesses.

Note: The figure in the original text appears to be a typo: current reporting puts the highlighted Japanese-linked projects at ₹3,191 crore, not ₹73,191 crore.
