Tokyo: Rev. Tomohiro Kimura, Vice-Head of Religious Affairs at Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, Tokyo, held a meeting with the Ambassador to discuss initiatives aimed at deepening Buddhist exchanges between India and Japan.
During the interaction, both sides highlighted the shared cultural and spiritual heritage that links the two nations. They emphasized the importance of Buddhism as a bridge of understanding and cooperation, noting its role in fostering people-to-people ties and strengthening mutual respect.
The discussion also explored opportunities for joint programs, cultural exchanges, and collaborative activities that would further enhance awareness of Buddhist traditions. Rev. Kimura underscored the temple’s commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and cultural harmony, while the Ambassador reaffirmed India’s historical and spiritual connection with Japan through the spread of Buddhism.
