Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, currently on a three-day official visit to Japan, took centre stage as the chief guest at the International Gita Mahotsav, held under the aegis of India’s Ministry of External Affairs at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo.
Addressing the gathering, CM Saini described the Bhagavad Gita not merely as a religious text, but as a timeless philosophy of life. He emphasised that the principles of Karma Yoga, truth, duty and inner strength remain deeply relevant in today’s world.
He also used the platform to project India’s spiritual and cultural heritage on a global scale. In his remarks, he said the state government’s objective is to carry the Gita’s universal message to every corner of the world, fostering peace, harmony and cooperation among nations.

Saini noted that the International Gita Mahotsav has already been hosted in countries like Mauritius, the UK, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka and Indonesia, and that Japan’s participation underscores the growing global appeal of India’s spiritual traditions.
In parallel with the cultural engagements, the CM and his delegation are pursuing economic and technological collaborations in Tokyo and Osaka, aiming to strengthen ties between Haryana and Japan in sectors such as manufacturing, green energy, and advanced electronics.
