ONODA Kimi, Japan’s Minister in charge of Economic Security, Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, and Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Strategy, recently visited India to further strengthen the growing strategic partnership between India and Japan across multiple critical sectors.
During her visit, Minister ONODA co-chaired the 3rd India-Japan Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations toward advancing healthcare cooperation, innovation, and future-ready medical solutions. The meeting served as an important platform for strengthening bilateral collaboration in healthcare systems, medical technology, research, and policy development.
Minister ONODA also held high-level discussions with several senior Indian leaders and officials, including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jagat Prakash Nadda, G. Kishan Reddy, and Vikram Misri. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in economic security, science and technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and other strategic areas of mutual interest.
As part of her visit, Minister ONODA also toured Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, engaging with academic stakeholders and researchers to explore future collaboration opportunities in innovation, advanced technology, and AI-driven development.
