Indian Community in Tokyo to Celebrate 78th Independence Day

The Indian community in Tokyo is gearing up to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of India with a flag hoisting ceremony on August 15th, 2024. The event will be held at the Embassy of India premises in Kudan-Minami, Chiyoda-Ku.

The ceremony will commence at 7:45 AM with the assembly of attendees followed by the flag hoisting by His Excellency Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, and the singing of the Indian National Anthem. The Ambassador will then read the address of the Honorable President of India to the nation. The program will conclude with a patriotic song performance by students.

To ensure the safety of all attendees, the Embassy has requested that visitors carry a valid ID card and refrain from bringing large bags or suitcases. Additionally, there will be no parking facilities available on the premises.

The Indian community in Tokyo is enthusiastically inviting all members and friends of India to join in the celebration of this momentous occasion.
