Indian travellers are exploring new horizons with unprecedented enthusiasm as countries like Russia, Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea relax entry formalities to boost tourism. The easing of visa rules has sparked a surge in outbound travel from India, opening doors to richer cultural experiences, seamless mobility, and more affordable international holidays.

Over the past year, these destinations have adjusted their visa systems to attract more Indian visitors ranging from simplified e-visa procedures to extended stay durations and streamlined approval times. As a result, Indian tourists are making their way to iconic destinations like Moscow’s Red Square, Vietnam’s scenic beaches, Japan’s cultural heartlands, and South Korea’s vibrant urban centres.

Russia, which recently expanded its e-visa facility for Indian citizens, has emerged as a top pick among adventure-seeking travellers. Moscow and St. Petersburg are witnessing a noticeable jump in arrivals, thanks to the quicker approval process and reduced paperwork.

Vietnam continues to rise as one of the most accessible holiday spots for Indians. With its relaxed visa norms and budget-friendly appeal, cities like Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City are seeing record footfall. The country’s mix of beaches, history, and cuisine makes it ideal for family vacations as well as solo trips.

Japan has also taken steps to simplify visa applications for Indian tourists, particularly promoting travel for cultural exploration, business, and education. With its blend of tradition and modernity from Kyoto’s temples to Tokyo’s neon-lit districts Japan is quickly becoming a preferred high-value destination.

South Korea, boosted by the popularity of K-dramas, K-pop, and Korean cuisine in India, is witnessing a tourism spike as well. Relaxed visa conditions paired with increased flight connectivity have made Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island more accessible than ever.

Travel experts note that India’s rising middle class, stronger passport mobility, and growing interest in global travel are driving this momentum. Tour operators and airlines are responding with competitive packages, new routes, and curated experiences tailored to Indian travellers.

As visa barriers continue to lower, outbound travel from India is set to grow even further, strengthening cultural exchange, tourism economies, and people-to-people connections across Asia and beyond.
