The 4th meeting of the India-Japan Joint Working Group (JWG) on Food Processing was held successfully, reinforcing the growing partnership between the two nations in the food processing sector. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Preet Pal Singh, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, and Mr. Sasaji Ken, Deputy Director-General of Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in productive discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in food processing, packaging technologies, and cold-chain infrastructure. The dialogue reflected the shared commitment of India and Japan to promote innovation, sustainability, and efficiency in the agricultural and food industries.
Officials discussed opportunities to improve food value chains, reduce post-harvest losses, and encourage investments in modern food processing technologies.
