During recent talks, Indian officials stressed their keen interest in strengthening cooperative ties with South Korea and Japan in areas such as trade and investment, industrial development and defence capabilities. The Government of India’s active efforts to develop improved relations with these first nations underscore its counterpart’s commitment to upholding the principles and pursuits that underpin regional stability, security and economic development.

India’s forward-looking approach is in line with the growing momentum of complex geopolitics, and emphasises the need for stronger partnerships to effectively address shared challenges, for the advancement of collective interests and highlight opportunities for sustainable development. Through deep engagement with South Korea and Japan, India not only strengthens its strategic footprint in the Indo-Pacific region, but also lays a strong foundation a strong alliance that can withstand the uncertainties of modern international relations to achieve a favourable environment for inclusive development.

 

Not only is India indeed keen on expanding its defence cooperation with South Korea and Japan on defence, but it will also strengthen joint efforts with enhanced military capabilities and vast experience in maritime security by these strategic partners.
