India and Japan have taken a significant step towards bolstering their economic partnership by holding the first round of the India-Japan Dialogue on Economic Security, including Strategic Trade and Technology. The dialogue, held in Tokyo, focused on enhancing cooperation in areas such as supply chain resilience, critical and emerging technologies, and economic security.

- Strengthening Economic Security: Both countries recognized the need for closer collaboration to protect their economic interests and build resilient supply chains and critical infrastructure.
- Promoting Technological Partnership: The dialogue aimed to facilitate partnerships in research and development, investment, and standardization of key technologies, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
- Enhancing Trade and Investment: India and Japan explored ways to boost bilateral trade and investment flows, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, and digital technology.
- Facilitating Talent Exchange: The two sides discussed initiatives to promote talent exchange and skill development in areas of mutual interest.
The dialogue was co-chaired by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Japanese Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Masataka Okano. It was attended by representatives from various ministries and agencies of both countries.
